Talent focus week

Talent Focus Week took place in every IKEA Business Unit all over the world from 4 to 11 April 2016.

For seven days IKEA co-workers were participating in various interesting events in order to find answers to three important questions:
• What’s my talent?
• What’s the best job for me?
• How can I develop professionally inside the company?

The game rules are simple: to explain the meanings of words and phrases by different means, i.e. with the help of songs, gestures, crayons, and modeling clay. Professional terms used by all IKEA departments are carefully selected and mixed for the game.

While playing the game IKEA stores co-workers tried to fulfill everyday tasks of MEGA shopping center: increase visitors flow, attract perspective tenants, organize maintenance works, and find the owner of a lost bag.

Katarina Bolin
Katarina Bolin has been in charge of IKEA retail talent development all over the world for over five years now. She started her career 20 years ago as a worker of Bathrooms department. Since then Katarina was a unit manager, head of furniture department, head of sales department, and even store manager in Sweden and Australia.
